Love in a time of COVID-19 has led to babies season among Malaysian celebrities with at least a dozen popular personalities announcing pregnancies and births in recent months.

Malaysian actress Zahirah MacWilson was the latest to tell the world that she was about to be a mom, announcing on Instagram yesterday that she was six months pregnant. She joins the ranks of other first-time mothers in the celebrity world who are either expecting or have already welcomed their new bundle of joy.

Malaysian actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, better known as Fazura, is glowing in her Instagram photos, flaunting her third-trimester body. The 36-year-old, who is married to fellow celeb Fattah Amin, announced in April that she was four months pregnant.

“Nothing in the world matters more to us right now than our precious one,” the Gol & Gincu actress wrote.

Being pregnant hasn’t stopped her from launching another baby in the form of her very first skincare brand Fazura Skincare just last week.

Malaysian actress and model Nur Zahirah MacWilson yesterday announced that she was expecting her first child with her husband and fellow actor Aiman Hakim Ridza.

The Oh Speak English Please actress tied the knot with the Kimchi Untuk Awak (Kimchi For You) actor in February at a dazzling wedding ceremony that featured an over-the-top, bedazzled chandelier wedding cake that descended from the ceiling upside-down.

Months later, the 25-year-old announced that she was six months pregnant with a photo of her ultrasound scan.

“6 months of growing our little love,” she said.

Farah Nabilah Saipuddin is another Malaysian actress and model who announced her pregnancy quite recently.

The Adakah Aku Bersalah (Did I Do Wrong?) actress married her pilot husband Mohammed Amirul Yunusin in December last year. She announced that she was five months pregnant in June.

“So, mini me or mini mirul?” the 28-year-old wrote online, teasing her fans on the gender of her baby.

In July, Yes Boss actress Emma Maembong revealed that she was four months pregnant with husband and pilot Muhammad Shazli Azhar, 27. They tied the knot in February.

Emma, whose real name is Fatimah Rohani Ismail, revealed her baby bump in a photo taken on Langkawi island.

“Can’t wait to see you my baby,” the mom-to-be wrote.

Former beauty pageant contestant Mawar Rashid, 25, is expecting her second child during the pandemic and is due in just a few months’ time. The Dewi Remaja participant, who was once famous on the now-defunct Vine app, married actor Raden Ahmad Faizal, 35, three years ago, and also has a son together. She also stars in the TV drama Aurora Aisyah.

The 25-year-old actress announced her pregnancy to the press in June, saying that she was suffering from unknown allergic reactions and terrible morning sickness, preventing her from doing the “Barbie Challenge” on TikTok as requested by fans. The challenge involves putting on makeup to look like Barbie with the popular 90’s hit Barbie Girl playing in the background.

“Please pray for my baby and myself, my allergies are worse this time around. That’s why I haven’t been active on social media. Many have asked me to do the ‘Barbie Challenge’ but I am too tired, I’m sorry,” she said.
