All it took was one Instagram photo, and his Malaysian fans went crazy.
YouTube superstar Pewdiepie is reportedly in Malaysia for an anniversary vacation with his girlfriend, fellow YouTuber Marzia Bisognin.
The 26-year-old Pewdiepie, whose real name is Felix Kjellbeg, uploaded a photo of himself with Marzia posing in front of the Petronas Twin Towers on Monday.
“We are in Malaysia!!,” Pewdiepie, known for his comedic video game playthroughs, wrote in the caption.
The photo, needless to say, sent die-hard Pewdiepie fans into a frenzy. The photo has since amassed more than 665,000 ‘likes’, drew more than 28,000 comments and apparently, started a game called ‘Where is Pewdiepie?’:
Arguably the biggest star on YouTube, Pewdiepie has more than 47 million subscribers on the video streaming website, making him the most subscribed user on the site.
He topped Forbes’ list of the highest paid YouTube stars in 2015 (he reportedly made RM48 million last year) and he was even listed in TIME magazine’s ‘Top 100 Most Influential People’ list this year.
