Malaysian hip-hop is Raising The Dead @ Lust, November 2

Halloween is tonight, but Raising The Bar likes to be a little fashionably late, hence the timing of the latest in their monthly series of live hip-hop shows.

Raising The Dead pays tribute to the fallen heroes of hip-hop, from Biggie and Tupac, to Big L and Eazy-E, just in time for All Hallow’s Eve celebrations.

This month’s RTB will play on that particular theme by having Malaysian mic controllers come up on stage performing as their favourite rhyme icons: NtahSape2Ntah will be performing as the Beastie Boys, co-host Dan Shiv will be doing a set as The Notorious B.I.G., Nadhirah is going to do an Aaliyah set, local OG Reefa will be channeling Eazy-E, and even resident DJ Mastermind will be doing a Jam Master Jay tribute.

Raising The Dead, which is presented by Raising The Bar and partners Showroom and Smirnoff Ice, will kick off at Lust in Changkat Bukit Bintang at 8pm on Sunday, November 2. Cover charge is RM20 at the door, inclusive of a complimentary drink. And since this is going to be a Halloween-themed party, you get in for free if you turn up in your best costume – if you’re coming as Ol’ Dirty Bastard, just make sure you bring eight other burly dudes with you to act as the Wu-Tang Clan.

Also, would it be too much to ask for any of the performers on Sunday to do a cover of this classic “spooky” rap track?
