Hmm, something is very different with this ‘Suicide Squad’ poster

Oh no, Harley Quinn! You’re not going out in those shorts!

A promotional poster for superhero movie ‘Suicide Squad’, which opened in Malaysian cinemas on August 4, appear to have been digitally edited for the local audience.

Tell us if you can spot the difference:

Yup, that’s right; the hotpants worn by gorgeous actress Margot Robbie — who plays lead character Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’ — was digitally altered into a pair of knee length bermudas.

The electronic billboard poster was spotted by an eagle-eyed fan at the KLCC LRT station, and a photo of the poster was uploaded onto Facebook.

The photo has since sparked a rather interesting conversation on the social media site:

Harley Quinn wasn’t the only character to get the censorship treatment; the white crop top worn by Japanese-American actress Karen Fukuhara, who plays kick-ass assassin Katana in the movie, was also reportedly digitally lengthened to cover her bare midriff.

Don’t worry though, Malaysia is not the only country who seems to have a problem with Margot Robbie’s short, short pants.

Harley Quinn’s shorts has been a hot topic leading up to ‘Suicide Squad”s release earlier this month. Media reports in the US have claimed that the shorts have been digitally edited to look smaller and shorter for different trailers around the world, depending on which region you are watching the movie in.

The 26-year-old Robbie told an Australian news site, Nova 969, in an interview that she’s not aware of the post-production work, but she did admit that the pants felt quite small.

“Having been there on the day, they were very small – but wow, I wonder if they did? That would be extensive Photoshopping to do,” she was quoted by the website as saying.

So, we guess the Malaysian Censorship Board has decided to take matters into their own hands and give Harley Quinn a bermuda shorts once and for all.
