So flambouyant Pamoga Qu Puteh founder Datuk Vida is in Madrid, Spain. Madrid, you might know, is the home of Real Madrid FC, the football club worldwide celebrity and dream baby daddy Cristiano Ronaldo belongs to. Datuk Vida likes football (she’s tickled pink by it).
So of course there was almost a meeting between the two. OF COURSE.
The sometimes-controversial, always outlandish cosmetics icon was in Madrid to catch Real Madrid square off against Las Palmas, and had engaged a fixer to really get her ticket’s worth: a post-game meet and greet with the football superstar.
Unfortonately, Datuk Vida (real name Dr Hasmiza Othman) told mStar‘s Sofea Susan Albert Kassim that the locker room encounter to end them all was called off at the very last minute. Ronaldo didn’t even specify why he had to bail.
“I was pretty disappointed the meeting didn’t happen,” Datuk Vida said.
She was so disappointed, in fact, that she ended up taking a selfie with a cardboard cutout of Ronaldo in the foyer of the Gran Canaria Stadium and called it a day.
And it’s not that meeting Cristiano Ronaldo was the only thing on Datuk Vida’s itinerary: she was also touring Spain to study design and logistics considerations for major football stadiums, so she could apply what she learns to remaking the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru in her image.
She singled out Los Blancos Stadium as a particular inspiration for her vision of Kota Baru.
“The design is just stunning. The stadium can take up to 85,000 people! It’s also home to the football club’s entire history. They made everything – the seats, the pitch, the canopy – so uniquely theirs, so that the stadium would appeal to tourists.”
