It’s been more than six years since Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam hit the big screen, but KRU Films seems ready to jump on the global superhero movie wave and give their comedy-action franchise a reboot.
Stepping into the red pleather boots once worn by Saiful Apek is comedian du jour Zizan Raja Lawak, with Lisa Surihani (wife of co-director Yusry KRU) as his leading lady.
We don’t know for sure just yet, but the teaser trailer seems to be hinting at a full reboot, with a new origin story and an Iron Manesque villain squaring up against the world’s most powerful gecko, uh, dude or something. Check it out:
No telling if KRU Films is aiming to establish a Cicakman Cinematic Universe with this one, although that would be hilariously awesome. A Cicakman x Keluang Man crossover, maybe?
