KL Monorail has second consecutive day of trouble; train stalled outside Bukit Bintang station

Right after yesterday’s disturbing train tyre fire at its Titiwangsa station, a KL Monorail train stalled between the Imbi and Bukit Bintang stations this morning, resulting in the second straight day of service disruption for intracity commuters on the line.

The stalled train had to be towed manually. Fire and Rescue Department trucks and personnel were spotted at the scene by The Star‘s Zulnasri Anuar Sharifuddin.

Commuters were advised by KL Monorail operator RapidKL to use alternative methods of transportation, and tweets have been coming up all day that the service’s trains were moving “at degraded mode”. Longer waiting times were also to be expected, according to RapidKL’s tweets.

At 12.35pm. RapidKL finally announced that its KL Sentral – Imbi route had been normalised, but that rectification exercises were still being carried out.

Might want to bit the bullet today and whip out the MyTeksi app, folks. This might take a while.
