Thong Kee is bringing its popular breakfast to its eighth outlet next month.

By the end of October, those living in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur will get to wake up and smell kaya croissants, otak-otak fish cake muffins, and Hainanese coffee mixed with tea when Thong Kee opens in the Connaught area.

“Connaught, we’re coming!” it announced on Instagram, sharing a photo of the outlet under construction. Other branches are located in places such as the Sri Petaling business district and Bentong, Pahang.

Its curry puffs, filled with potato, meat, and egg, are also reminiscent of those you can get from Swedish furniture retailer IKEA. Other breakfast foods include toasted bread with butter and kaya spread, half-boiled eggs, and fried noodles.

The homegrown franchise has been around for 33 years and is owned by Wong Mun Thong who is also from Bentong.
