Malaysia Airlines is revamping its economy class menu on short and long-haul flight in an attempt to improve customer service.
The Rakyat Post quoted the airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer Paul Simmons of saying the new menu is based on feedback from customers and is the result of an extensive meal development process.
“Malaysia Airlines is going through a period of rapid transformation as we are rebuilding to become one of the very best airlines in the world, focused on providing the best customer experience,” he said in a statement.
Flyers will see more Malaysian dishes such as curry and rendang served on flights between Kuala Lumpur and Australia, while hot meals will be introduced on short-haul flights.
Paul also added that the new menu, scheduled to be served this month on all outbound flights, would also see bigger portions and the protein size doubled as well as better presentation of the meals.
“We have invested an additional 20% into the cost of creating the perfect menu to suit the variety of guests on Malaysia Airlines,” he said.
