“Iron Fairies is opening in KL,” our friend told us excitedly earlier this year.
“Iron que?,” we asked.
“Iron Fairies — like you know, in Hong Kong? Tokyo? Bangkok?”
*Blank stare*
“OK, you’re coming with me when it opens.”
Fast forward to Wednesday, and Iron Fairies, the bar that brings whimsy, fairy dust, dreamy lighting and stiff cocktails, has just opened in Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife strip TREC.
The entertainment zone is home to several bars and nightspots, including Zouk, and had mostly been on our radar for a really great Lebanese place Byblos (review coming soon) tucked away in the back.
Turns out, we have another reason to head into town: Iron Fairies KL lives up to all the magical, fanciful expectations that one expects after having visited (or heard endless nattering) its other locations, including their Bangkok flagship.
It’s still early days, and they have had a quiet week of low-key opening events, showcasing the space, and cocktail menu — it was good, but we’re gonna wait another month or so before we give you the full rundown.
Until then, go and check it out for yourselves! It’s lush, beautiful, and basically the new hotspot in town to see and be seen (lol). Meet us at the bar.
