Maira Elizabeth Nari knows a thing or two about unbearable loss.
The daughter of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 chief steward, Andrew Nari, felt that loss when the aircraft on which her father was serving disappeared in the early hours of March 8.
With the disappearance of AirAsia Flight QZ8501, Maira has reached out via social media to the daughter of the aircraft’s pilot Captain Iriyanto, 22-year old Angela Anggi Ranastianis.
Angela had taken to mobile social network Path to express her grief and shock over the disappearance of her father and the plane he was piloting, as shown in this tweet by @1Obefiend:
She signed off one photo post of her father in uniform with “Papa harus ketemu, Papa harus pulang” (“Papa you need to come see me, Papa you have to come home”).
Maira came forward to offer her support and kind words to Angela, and related her own experiences in dealing with a near-identical situation.
She asked Angela to stay strong and place her faith in God, no matter what fate had befallen her father and the passengers aboard Flight QZ8501.
“Yes, it is not easy, but if you leave it to God, you’ll be calm. Take it slowly, and you’re gonna be fine. Know that he loves you.
“Pray whenever you feel sad or angry, for it’ll guide you,” Maira said in her message, as quoted by The Star Online‘s Michelle Tam.
