A total of 625 flood victims have so far been evacuated in Selangor, as new relief centres open in the state.
The NST reports that a total of 161 families have been moved, including 23 babies, 38 senior citizens and two disabled people.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul told the daily that a new relief centre has been opened at the Genting Sanyen Community Hall, Sepang, bringing the total number of relief centres to nine.
“The relief centre at Dewan Sekolah Menengah Meru recorded the highest number of flood victims with 242 victims from 59 families, an increase of 70 victims compared to yesterday,” he was quoted as saying.
