Famed producer Prince Fatty delivers “up-beat, positive and organic funk” along with rock steady beats with the reggae MC Horseman providing lyrics that’ll take you deep into the refreshing sound of all things dub. The Nutcracker @ Grand Theatre Dec. 21-22 2:30pm

Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” is as Christmas as gingerbread houses, Rudolph and old St. Nick with its iconic score that is synonymous with the yuletide spirit. The classic surrealist tale mixes ballet along with an epic battle of Russian proportions between a brave nutcracker and the wicked rat king, but of course you already knew that. Australian choreographer Terence Kohler will be presenting a smattering of performances of the famed ballet on the island this week with the help of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, who will be providing the score.

Hailing from the mainland, renowned experimental folk singers Xiaohe and Zhou Yunpeng are hitting up Hong Kong’s Hidden Agenda this weekend with plans to take their audience on a cosmic odyssey all the while jamming to some alternative freak folk.
