Young wild boar caught in Aberdeen after 5-hour standoff with police

Yesterday morning, a female wild boar evidently decided to enjoy the sunrise along the Aberdeen waterfront.

The 3.5-foot-long young boar, weighing 70 kilograms, was reported in the area at 5am, prompting policemen and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department staff to arrive fully armed, reports Apple Daily.

The police stood off against the poor boar for the next three hours, but the animal outsmarted them when it suddenly ran across six lanes of traffic into Aberdeen.

The frightened piggie then ran into an industrial building’s carpark, where the authorities barricaded it in using trash cans. Wielding plastic riot shields, were able to shoot the animal with a tranquilizer gun shortly before 10am.

It was unhurt and will be released back into the wild.
