Yoga and Tai Chi trumps running as a depression deterrent

A study conducted by the Chinese University shows that yoga and tai chi are more effective at preventing mood disorders than cardio exercises.

The study finds that Hongkongers who do not exercise are 3.7 times more likely to develop a mood disorder with those sometimes exercising 1.8 times more likely. Furthermore, exercises like yoga and tai chi are more effective in reducing the risk than cardio exercises.

According to experts, when you exercise a protein generated in the brain lowers the risk of mood disorders.
