Canadian alt/rock band Emmas Ringer has released a video for their song “Hong Kong”. It’s complete with an Asian Gong, random Buddha statues, band members wearing Asian “paddy” hats prancing through a Chinatown, and what we assume is an attempt at kung fu.
We’re surprised they didn’t throw in that stereotypical Asian riff.
The song’s (rather surprisingly) not completely terrible though we can’t really figure out what he’s saying, besides, “I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go to Hong Kong…. Yeah….” during the chorus.
It’s the first single off their upcoming album. Here’s the image they’ve used to announce the video:
