After we reported TVB trying to discredit HKTV’s Ricky Wong Wai-kay in one of their programmes earlier, TVB strikes again by trademarking HKTV’s name with their logo.
Legal docs show that in May this year, TVB applied have TVB’s logo attached with the name “HKTV” trademarked. The application was approved by the Intellectual Property Department in November, which means that TVB now owns rights to using the name HKTV with the TVB logo.

What’s really strange is that HKTV has been trying to apply for a trademark for their logo with the name HKTV four times in November last year and also in April this year, yet only one application was accepted.
