With the huge influx of mainland school children, parents have been frantic and worried sick about securing a kindergarten spot for their children.
Yuen Long Lutheran Life Kindergarten distributed admission application forms several days ago in limited numbers, and attracted more than 1,000 parents to queue up. Apparently, some in line were not actually parents but people who saw a business opportunity. Some application forms were advertised to be sold online for HK$500.
Parents were outraged, saying the sellers did not consider the feelings of those who queued up overnight genuinely for their kids academic.
The principal of the kindergarten, Miss Lam, says she is astonished with the incident and claims no similar event like this has happened before.
