Firefighters managed to talk down an emotionally distressed woman after she climbed out of a fourth-floor window and clung to a restaurant’s signboard in Kowloon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2am this morning after receiving a call that a woman had been spotted hanging onto a signboard for the Pitt Street branch of the cha chaan teng chain Tsui Wah in Yau Ma Tei.

According to Apple Daily, the woman had climbed out of a guesthouse room on the fourth floor of one of the buildings on the street after an argument with her boyfriend.

Shortly after the boyfriend left the room, the woman climbed out of the window and along the walls, using canopies and pipes, until she ended up on the the signboard.

The woman threatened to jump, but firefighters at the scene managed to talk her back into a safe spot, and eventually convinced her to head back to the unit she had come out of. The operation lasted about 40 minutes.

The woman was sent to hospital with cuts on her hands and feet.
