Woman paralysed after anaesthesia for dental surgery

A 60-year-old woman was paralysed after accepting anaesthesia for dental surgery at a dental clinic in Diamond Hill. The woman, surnamed Chan, scheduled a tooth extraction after feeling pain for her rotted tooth, and took advantage of the elderly discount at the clinic.

However, after the dental surgeon injected the anaesthesia, she suddenly felt ill, and soon, started twitching all over her body and went into paralysis. She was unable to close her mouth and her body went rock hard all over. She was rushed to the hospital and treated and is currently in a stable condition. Doctors suspect that Chan either had an allergic reaction to the medication or the anaesthesia was mistakenly injected into her vein, causing paralysis. Yikes!
