A woman in her 20s was slashed twice in Yau Ma Tei on Monday morning, according to local media reports.

HK01 quoted the police as saying that they received several reports of the incident at 5:30am.

The woman was found soaked in blood at the intersection between Nathan Road and Bowring Street.

She was conscious and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The online portal said it was suspected that the woman was chased by several people and slashed twice on her back.

A large pool of blood, mobile phone, handbag and white hat were also found at the scene.

The case has been classified as wounding and police investigations are underway.
