A 39-year-old woman, surnamed Chan, was brutally hacked by her former boyfriend yesterday morning when she was asleep and is now in critical condition at the Queen Mary Hospital.
The 23-year-old boyfriend, surnamed Tang, was arrested as he tried to hide and resist cops in the woman’s flat.
The Standard reports that the pair were lovers but often quarreled and separated. Tang had a set of keys to Chan’s apartment.
Police found a five-meter trail of blood from the woman’s home to the lift lobby was found, as a result of Chan trying to escape, in addition to a 30cm knife blade for which Tang had allegedly used to chop Chan with at least three times.
