Last June, a 49-year-old British woman Sarah Wilson was arrested for allegedly injuring and causing the deaths of eight cows along South Lantau Road.
After her arrest, Wilson did not provide the police with information after her car was found parked close to the scene with animal hair stuck to the car’s damaged bumper. She then repeatedly gave police incomplete information during the investigation, including the driver’s name, address and driving license.
As Wilson did not have any prior criminal and driving records the court felt a fine of HK$5,000 was appropriate, reports the SCMP.
