Woman arrested for entering ‘suicide pact’ with husband and planning to ‘murder’ daughter

Yesterday, the police arrested a 40-year-old woman in connection to a “suicide pact” and “conspiracy to commit murder” case in Wong Tai Sin, according to a police statement.

It is suspected that she and her 41-year-old husband had attempted to commit suicide by burning charcoal inside a flat in Wong Tai Sin on Feb. 3. They had allegedly planned to murder their 11-year-old daughter in the process.

No one was injured. The case was reported to the police by another woman two days later.

Her husband had been arrested the day before in connection to the same case. He was released on bail as the police continue to investigate the case, and is required to report back to the police in mid-March.

The investigation continues.
