A 29-year-old woman died last night after receiving acupuncture treatment at a store on Jaffe Road in Causeway Bay.
The woman, surnamed Yan, had gone to the parlour for a massage and acupuncture at 8pm, reports Bastille Post.
When her therapist, a 32-year-old man surnamed Li, pulled the needles out of her foot she began to have a seizure and fell unconscious.
Staff immediately called an ambulance. Yan was pronounced dead at Ruttonjee Hospital.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
