Rainko Tai, 22, died on Monday evening after being found without a pulse at the bottom of the pool at a private function at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on Sunday. After being separated from her friends for a period of 15 minutes near the end of the party, she was pulled from the bottom of the pool and lifeguards performed CPR on her, reports Apple Daily.

The chairman of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, located in Causeway Bay, said two lifeguards were on duty at the time. The police are treating the incident as a drowning, but Tai’s family members are demanding an investigation into why it took so long for Tai to be found.

According to EJ Insight, the party was organised by the Australian Rugby Club and had over 200 partygoers.

On June 2, Tai (pictured above) posted a cover photo for her Facebook page with the now tragic caption “we are young till we die”.
