Wild boar euthanized after getting head stuck in Pok Fu Lam railing

Yesterday a wild boar was put down after it was found with its head stuck in a railing near Baguio Villa in Pok Fu Lam.

The poor animal had fallen into a runoff gutter on the side of Victoria Road and somehow got trapped in the railing, reports Apple Daily.

It was found bleeding from its head, neck and leg.

The animal was discovered yesterday at 3pm. The Agriculture and Fisheries Department (AFCD) arrived and tranquilised the boar, after which firefighters descended into the gutter to cut it free.

It was taken to the nearby government animal management centre for treatment.

Sadly, because of the injuries sustained while struggling to escape the railings, the animal had to be euthanized.
