Wife, daughter of Hong Kong anaesthetist mysteriously found dead in locked car

Hong Kong police are investigating after the wife and daughter of a respected Hong Kong anaesthetist were found dead inside a locked car with the engine still running.

Lily Khaw, 17, and her mother Huang Siu Fen, 48, were discovered by a jogger in their parked car on Sai Sha Road, Sha Tin, last Friday.

The women were unconsious, with emergency services failing to revive them once gaining access to the vehicle.

The deceased were the wife and daughter of Professor Khaw Kim Sun, a well-known member of the department of anaesthesia at Chinese University.

According to an SCMP source, he continued with his duties at Sha Tin hospital just hours after the two women were declared dead at the same institution.

Police are said to be baffled by the deaths. No note was found and a suicide has been ruled out.

The possibility of foul play is being investigated but there were no immediate signs of a struggle at the scene.
