If you or anyone you know is missing a black bear costume, don’t worry, it’s been found.

In a message posted on Kowloon Motorbus’ (KMB) posted on their Facebook page yesterday — titled “A Bear’s Monologue” — it said that a Kumamon costume has been in their lost and found office for two weeks, and no one has come to claim it.

Kumamon, in case you’re not a fan, is a mascot created by the government of Kumamoto prefecture in Japan to draw in tourists that’s wildly popular in Hong Kong.

The monologue, which has been addressed to the “bear master”, concludes with: “I’m ok, I’m just waiting for you to take me home so that I can be cleaned.”

KMB did not say on which bus route the bear costume was found on, and the lack of any information attached to the bear means they haven’t been able to find its owner.

The Facebook post attracted a number of commenters wondering how anyone forgets a costume that big.

Most wondered how it was possible to get an item that big onto the bus in the first place. “Maybe they folded the costume in half?” Suggested one person.

“It’s been abandoned by the world,” said another.

One person joked that if the owner doesn’t step forward, KMB should hand it over to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
