We are so confused: Man spotted sifting through dog poop bin to collect old newspaper in Shau Kei Wan

It’s Friday today, and the UK voted to leave the EU. So we thought, what the hell! Let’s post a photo of a man sifting through dog poop just to collect old newspaper!

A bewildered Coconaut sent us a photo of a bizarre scene he had come across in Shau Kei Wan at around 1pm today.

At the junction of Oi Shun Road and Oi Yee Street, he spotted a man apparently digging through a “dog excreta collection bin” (that’s what they’re officially called, FYI) with his bare hands, methodically decanting the canine turds off of old newspaper and into a heaping, stinking pile on the ground.

You may be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, and wonder if perhaps he was an enlightened hipster looking for sustainable, locally-sourced fertiliser for a rooftop farm.

But we’re afraid it was not the fecal matter he was after: he left the dog doo-doo and sauntered off with his new collection of poop-stained newspapers.

“I challenged him about it but he just shrugged and walked off with a bundle of newspapers in his hands,” our witness said in a Facebook message. “The stench was foul!”

“I’d like to think he was looking for a lost winning mark six ticket, but he appeared to be only after the newspaper.”

We have no words, Coconauts. No words. The only logical response is to hold our very first caption contest.

So come on readers: email us, tweet at us, or comment on Facebook with your best caption for this mind-boggling image!

Here it is again if you need some additional inspiration:
