Seems like just walking around in Hong Kong is a disaster waiting to happen — other than falling windows (see here), now you should also worry about falling neon signs. According to the Apple Daily, in an area like Mongkok, there are at least hundreds and thousands of neon signs, abandoned by businesses, which no longer meet safety standards. Some of these signs are decades old and it is estimated that there are at least 120,000 such signs in Hong Kong, all in danger of collapsing.
Maybe we should start wearing helmets outdoors?
