Want to be a dog owner? 80 dogs may be put down on Jun. 20

Sai Kung Stray Friends have been asked to vacate their current premises by Jun. 20, meaning 80 stray dogs that were previously cared for by the charity may need to be put down.

The charity told the SCMP they thought they had more time, despite their lease already expired, as the landlord was still pending a planning application for the new site, but this week they were told they had to vacate in 22 days.

The group has a new site but it won’t be ready until December so the charity is hoping Hongkongers will come forward to adopt or at least foster the dogs until the new site is ready, otherwise the dogs may have to be euthanised.
