A clip appearing to show a man snorting a line of drugs on his MTR commute made the rounds on social media Sunday.

In the video, an elderly man seated on the train is seen crushing a substance, rolling up a piece of paper and inhaling through it for about 30 seconds.

The clip was shared in about half a dozen local Facebook groups on Sunday.

At least three people, including the person who filmed the video, were in the train compartment with him. The two commuters seated near him on the bench did not seem to pay him any mind.

According to an MTR announcement made at the start of the clip, the train was near Yau Ma Tei when the video was filmed.

It is unclear what substance the man may have been taking, but social media users speculated that it could be ketamine or cocaine, both drugs that are commonly powdered and snorted.

A representative with the police force’s media relations department told Coconuts that they did not receive reports of the case over the weekend.

The MTR’s public relations team said it was looking into the incident but has not confirmed the incident at the time of writing.
