Yesterday afternoon, a violent man smashed an 86-year-old woman surnamed Wong in the face with a small beer keg that caused a three-inch wound and blinded her left eye at a Shau Kei Wan park.
She was sitting on the bench, resting, when she met a man who borrowed HK$5 from her many years ago. When she asked for it back, the man, who was sitting next to a five-liter Heineken beer keg and a wheeled suitcase and behaving strangely, lifted the beer keg without a word and smashed the old lady in her face, cutting her left cheek open and injuring her eye. The offender fled the scene.
