VIDEO: Two teensy, ballsy birds attack a large bird of prey in Hong Kong skies

This may be news to you, but Hong Kong is actually considered a bird-watching haven thanks to the protected wetlands in the north of the city that attract tens of thousands of migratory birds every winter. Despite the fact that the city is almost 9,000 times smaller than the mainland, Hong Kong is home to one third of all the bird species ever recorded in China. Go us!

This means that if you take a peek at the sky above you every once in a while, you may just see something amazing, like what was captured in the video below: two black drongos—known to be territorial and aggressive despite their small stature—attacking a black kite, a bird of prey several times their size.

You’ve definitely seen black kites all around Hong Kong; they’re those brown, almost eagle-looking birds that stare straight back at you through your office windows. Black kites are not only easy to spot here, they’re probably the most common birds of prey in the world.

You’ve got to hand it to the little black drongos for picking a fight with a carnivorous bird that literally eats small birds like them for breakfast.
