Police are still searching for three men who stole millions of dollars’ worth of high-end jewelry from a Tsim Sha Tsui shop in broad daylight yesterday.

At around 10am yesterday, two masked men carrying sledgehammers smashed open a window display at a Chow Sang Sang branch on Canton Road and stole the merchandise inside, Chief Inspector Frances Lee of the Yau Tsim District crime unit told reporters.

During the robbery, which lasted roughly 10 seconds, the men stole nine items of jewelry ranging from HK$900,000 to HK$10 million in value, with a combined worth of HK$24 million.

The pair then jumped onto a plateless motorcycle being driven by an accomplice. They left behind an empty wheelie suitcase and paper bag.

The trio was then seen near Kowloon Park, where a passerby later found a ring worth HK$1 million believed to have been stolen in the heist, Oriental Daily reports.

The motorcycle used in the robbery was also located at around 5pm yesterday, and was confirmed by authorities to have been stolen. All three suspects remain at large, and are believed to be of non-Chinese descent. Chinese-language media outlets have speculated that the trio is South Asian.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to offer should contact the police.
