What do you think of Travel Channel’s picks for the top 10 attractions in Hong Kong? We probably would have reversed the entire list and jumbled it around a bit, adding an outlying island or an old-school neighbourhood like Sham Shui Po, but it’s not a bad effort.

The full list:
#10: Victoria Peak
#9: Star Ferry
We agree easily enough with Victoria Peak (#10) and the Star Ferry (#9). You can’t really go to Hong Kong without checking out the view from Victoria Peak (though here’s a tip: skip the Peak tram!), and the Star Ferry doesn’t even get old for locals.
#8: Temple Street Night Market
#7: Jumbo Restaurant
We’re not sure the gimmicky floating restaurant is worth the trip.
#6: Dragon’s Back Trail
We love that they’ve included this, as Hong Kong’s green side is definitely under-appreciated by locals and tourists alike!
#5: Nan Lian Garden
We’re not sure the garden would be worth the trek for a tourist on a time crunch, as beautiful as it is, though it does give you a glimpse of what life as a emperor during the Tang Dynasty might have felt like.
#4: Big Buddha
We’re going to ignore the voiceover’s painful pronunciation of Ngong Ping, and go straight to the point: the cable car ride is a family-friendly adrenaline rush, but the Buddha itself is rather disappointing. Not worth wasting an entire day.
#3: Hong Kong Disneyland
#2: Ocean Park
It seems like the Travel Channel ran out of inspiration at this point, listing Disneyland and Ocean Park in a row. We’d only recommend Ocean Park if you have a few days to spare, and Disneyland is definitely not worth it at all if you are above the age of eight. At least they listed Disneyland behind Ocean Park…
#1: Hong Kong Museum of History
For the top attraction they picked the Hong Kong Museum of History, which is an excellent museum full of life-sized memorabilia (including an entire tram!). If you haven’t been there yet, seriously consider heading there on the next rainy day. So maybe tomorrow.
