VIDEO: Supermoon Sunday adds a touch of magic to Hong Kong’s skyline

Did you know we’ve just had a Supermoon Sunday? Nope, us neither, but thankfully an ever-efficient YouTuber has captured the moment for us, and to rather spectacular effect! Joseph Fung filmed these beautiful images in the early hours of Monday morning, (but Supermoon Sunday just sounds so much better), before setting them together with a few special effects and the haunting music of Ivan Torrent’s “Before I Leave this World”.

And for those of you who take no interest in astrology further than reading you zodiac prediction in the paper, here’s the science bit:

“A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth.” Thanks Wiki!
