(VIDEO) Man shoves woman onto tracks for no apparent reason

UPDATE: A court today charged a 56-year-old Pakistani man with one count of wounding after he allegedly pushed a woman onto train tracks on Saturday.

According to Apple Daily, the suspect, whose name is given as Qazi Jamshed, has been charged and was denied bail at the Tuen Mun Law Courts Building earlier today.

No plea was entered today and the case was adjourned until Dec.18, the Standard reported.

He was arrested on Saturday following the horrific incident at Yuen Long station.

The seemingly unprovoked attack, which occurred just after 10:20am on Saturday, was caught in full view of a CCTV camera at platform number 5.

The clip shows the female cleaner, aged 59, according to the SCMP, standing at the edge of the Light Rail platform when a man wearing a blue shirt and beige cap casually walks up and, with one hand, pushes her on to the tracks.

RTHK reported that the woman was injured and sent to hospital while the suspect was found by nearby officers, who are investigating a motive.

Fortunately no train was passing at the time she was pushed onto the tracks.
