Things can get hectic in Tsim Sha Tsui.

And footage which emerged yesterday shows a particularly chaotic scene: a man pulling a knife in the crowded shopping district and confronting passersby.

According to Sing Tao Daily, the incident took place at outside The ONE shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui at 2pm on Sunday.

The suspect, according to the outlet, was arrested after the tense stand-off,  which included a showdown with one particularly brave onlooker, who stood his ground when confronted by the much taller man.

The man detained, who police said was Southeast Asian, was taken to hospital following the incident and has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

Apple Daily, which published video of the incident yesterday, also reported that the suspect was also arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and common assault.

In the video, the suspect can be seen arguing with a local man in a navy blue t-shirt, while three women and another man wearing a beige vest are standing nearby.

The suspect is then seen pulling a knife out of the pocket of his jeans before waving it around at people nearby.

One female eyewitness told Apple Daily she saw the suspect shouting at two women and yelling “bitch.”

The suspect at one point in the video can be seen making his way towards the man in the beige vest — who took out his cell phone earlier to film the incident — and spits at him.

Police arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and can be seen overpowering the suspect.
