A video of a security guard bowing low and begging a vendor to please leave on a pedestrian bridge has gone viral, generating mutters about how tough it is to making a living in Hong Kong these days.
The incident happened on Lunar New Year’s day and a security guard in a suit and tie stood on a bridge above a mall, pleading with the vendor to leave. The guard is responsible for patrolling the mall and its adjoining bridge. In the video, he bowed 90 degrees a couple of times, and begged: “We all just want to spend new year’s, will you please let me make my living?” and “I’m not trying to be brutal, I’m asking you very politely. Will you please, please, please leave?” Poor guy!
