Who would have thought a secondary school student’s poem recital would be such a big hit on the Internet!
Leung Yat-fung, a form 3 student when the video was taken, was the winner of an inter-school poem recital competition in 2010. In his winning performance, he recited two classic Chinese poems in Cantonese with animated expressions.
Someone picked up the videon recently, and Leung’s performance went viral on social media. Many netizens found his expressions so exaggerated, funny and Leung has become such a big internet sensation that memes have been created with Leung’s performance.
Some netizens however, have asked people to stop ridiculing Leung and respect his creativity and courage.
