VIDEO: A Hong Kong time lapse actually worth your time

Yeah, yeah, we known you’re all bored to DEATH of Hong Kong time lapse videos, but this one is actually really, really beautiful.

Apparently a first attempt by Vimeo user Gerald Kwok, “Hong Kong: A Time-Lapse Experience” will take you on a truly enchanting ride, all the way from the airport to Cape D’Aguilar.

Despite taking in all the typical tourists spots along the way, the three-minute film – which apparently took 250 hours in total to shoot and edit – somehow strikes a deeper chord than most.

Perhaps it’s the planes whizzing off like fireflies into the night sky, the Lantau cable cars disappearing like swooping falcons into the mist, or the haunting soundtrack “Shadow of the Sun” by Max Elto.

Whatever it is, it had us transfixed. Enjoy, and never forget: not all time lapses are made equal.
