In our second edition of “Hong Kong’s national sports teams you didn’t know we had” (with the first being our piece about the aerobatic gymnastics team), we learn about Hong Kong’s men’s lacrosse team.
Check out their highlight reel:
They made it to the World Championships in Denver, USA where they won five games and lost three games, giving them a 21st place finish out of 38 countries. It’s pretty respectable considering they represent a city where most people have never heard of lacrosse.
They came second in their division, which included Austria, Belgium and Germany. Canada beat USA to become champions for the third time.
There’s a Hong Kong national women’s team as well but it appears as though the Denver World Championships were for men only.
