Jeffrey Andrews grew up in Hong Kong. He’s lived in the city his whole life, speaks perfect Cantonese and went through the local school system.
But Andrews is of Indian descent, and like other ethnic minority Hongkongers, he’s always found it difficult to find a job due to his lack of Chinese reading and writing skills, as the government placed him in schools that don’t teach Chinese.
Inspired after being helped by local NGO Hong Kong Unison, Andrews became a social worker. Watch the eye-opening and inspiring video by TomoNews here:
