Drunken raving Russian subdued and tied up on flight from Hong Kong (VIDEO)

Russians are stereotypically cast as hardy people who subsist on a diet that is roughly 50 percent vodka and 50 percent raw meat from elk they kill with their bare hands.

It’s one of the more pervasive tropes in modern culture and obviously, one that is completely unfair. Unfortunately this story will do nothing to help break the cycle.

An apparently drunken man shouting in Russian and fighting on a flight from Hong Kong to Vladivostok yesterday had to be restrained by multiple passengers and tied up with a seat belt and duct tape, according to Vostok-Media.

He was detained once the plane landed in Vladivostok.

So, we guess the moral of the story is: Don’t drink too much on flights? Seat belts make great restraints? Teamwork can save the day?

We don’t know. But there’s a moral in there somewhere.
