Mainland Follies: Boy in Chongqing gets stuck inside elevator after peeing on buttons (VIDEO)

“He can’t pee that high,” was the defense offered by the parents of a young boy accused of short-circuiting an elevator by taking a whizz all over the buttons.

Oh, but he can, and he did.

According to Shanghai Online, the boy was rescued by maintenance staff at the building in southwest China on Friday after getting trapped in the elevator.

Confronted with the suggestion that their child had caused his own predicament by peeing on the buttons, his parents initially claimed it was implausible. Their son, they said, simply couldn’t pee that high.

Exhibit A: Video footage, which was published online and, as you might expect, quickly went viral.

In the immortal words of Jurassic Park‘s Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) — “when you gotta go, you gotta go” — and this kid went, all OVER the buttons, getting enough arch on the stream to drench numbers for the upper floors.

After his stream stopped, however, the elevator did, too.

Arriving at his floor, the doors refuse to open and the buttons begin to flicker.

After pushing the button to open the door doesn’t work, the boy then reaches for the alarm just before the lights go out inside the lift.

After CCTV footage of the incident was posted online, netizens called on the parents to pay for the repair works, while others said the boy deserved to be stuck inside.
