Police investigating Kevin Lau attack
Attacks on local journalists and media in Hong Kong hit international headlines when former Ming Pao chief editor, Kevin Lau, has hacked by a cleaver.
Just this week, attacks on members of the media made international press again, this time, two executives from Hong Kong Morning New Media Group were attacked by four masked men with metal bars.
These two incidents have sparked the United States concern over Hong Kong’s media, and a State Department spokeswoman has called for a full and transparent investigation into the incidents.
We’re glad these attacks are sparking attention, Hong Kong is a free city and should not be tolerating such brutal attacks on press.
