What better way to fend off the cold during the chilliest weekend of the year than to surround yourself by endless rows of steaming BBQs and hot, hot Aussies?
The Butchers Club will be putting on a mega barbecue bonanza to celebrate Australia Day (better known as Straya Day) this Sunday (Jan. 24) to mark the return of their Southside Market Long Lunch.
Their 7,000 square-metre Aberdeen rooftop will be lined with stall, after stall, of sizzling meats, seafood, burgers (with beets, obvs), pies, desserts, and every other delicious dish you can name from Down Under.
Live musicians will be taking to the stage all day long, and parents can even lose the kids for five minutes or so at the face-painting stand.
It’s a ticket-holder only event, so don’t bank on just rocking up on Sunday. Guests will be able to enjoy unlimited food and drinks all day, as well as the opportunity to purchase take-away goodies such as cases of wine and beer (hopefully not goonsacks and tinnies), pastries, and cakes.
A bloody Baltic Australia Day never sounded so bonza.
