Typhoon Rammasun expected to hit South China Sea around Wednesday, bringing wind and rain to HK

Severe Tropical Storm Rammasun is currently to the east of the Philippines, which it is expected to hit on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.com. After being downgraded to being a tropical depression, Rammasun became a tropical storm again early Sunday when it gained strength. Ever since it has maintained its momentum as a tropical storm, and is expected to pass over the northwest of the Philippines before it makes its way to the South China Sea.

After that it’s unclear whether Hong Kong will be in its trajectory, but starting around Wednesday the weather “will deteriorate”, becoming windy and rainy, says the Hong Kong Observatory.

In the graphic above, the dotted lines represent the predicted path of the cyclone while the yellow area indicates the approximate area where it might be at that point.
